BEWARE! Phone scam going around! They claim to be working with Microsoft.

I’ve never seen them this bold before…

They call you up, claiming to be a third party working with Microsoft, and that their systems have tracked a bunch of malware traffic back to your computer. They offer to remote in and take a look (by having you install their remote-in software), and they take over… and, surprise surprise, it’s “infected”. They offer to clean up all these “infections” for you for a mere sum of $400 or so.

Don’t fall for it!

Remember, solutions, ESPECIALLY malware solutions, never come to you. You must seek them out. Curious if you’re infected? Try running the utilities you already have on your computer first (be sure you know which one you have ahead of time). Then call your IT professional.
